Debbi Morgan- “Hell, No!”… I Agree!

Weekly: How flattering is it that your were snapped up right away by Y&R after your role as Angie ended with AMC?

Morgan: That was quite flattering. I’m not going to lie, it felt good. People always say, “Oh, when one door closes, another one opens,” but in this life that we lead, you feel like when one door closes, another door may not open for another year or longer. It’s the life of the the actor.

Weekly: When it was announced that you were coming to Y&R, the rumors were flying that you would be playing Drucilla. Did you ever hear from her originator, Victoria Rowell?

Morgan: Actually, she sent me an e-mail and asked me point-blank if I was going to be taking over her part. I told her in no uncertain terms, “Absolutely not,” I wouldn’t even think about trying to step into her shoes. I know her fans would be so angry about that. I told her, “Vicky, I would not want to be handed that baton.”

Weekly: Do you know why Yolanda now goes by the name of Harmony?

Morgan: Maria [Arena Bell, executive producer/head writer] said she never really cared for the name Yolanda. And Harmony sounds more balanced and even keeled. She’s started out fresh and new and wanted to put her past behind her, so I understood where that came from.

Weekly: What are the differences between Harmony and Angie?

Morgan: There are lots of differences. Physically, her look is so totally different from Angie. Harmony is not pulled together at all like Angie. These two woman have led completely different lives. Maybe eventually, Harmony will come through some transformation, but for right now, she’s from the streets. She’s spicier than Angie and I’m really excited to play this character.

Weekly: Do Harmony and Angie have anything in common?

Morgan: Both these women have a love for their sons, as Angie did for Frankie and as Harmony has for Devon, but the dynamic of those relationships are completely different because of her not being a parent when she should’ve been, because Devon ended up in foster care. I don’t think it was something that Harmony would’ve chosen to do, but that’s how her life went. She’s trying to make up for it and I don’t know how easy that’s going to be.

Weekly: What has your experience on Y&R been like so far?

Morgan: Wonderful. Everyone has been so warm and welcoming. In fact, Stephen Nichols [Tucker] called me and said how excited he was about us working together. I also got two wonderful e-mails from Michelle Stafford [Phyllis] welcoming me to the show, which I thought was so nice. She said what an honor it was to have me here and that meant so much to me.

Weekly: You used to work with Kristoff St. John (Neil) on Generations as Chantal and Adam. Where you thrilled to be on the same show with him again?

Morgan: Oh that goes without saying. I’ve loved Kristoff for years, but I’ve only had two short scenes with him, so we really haven’t had a lot of play together.

Weekly: Have you been able to reconnect with Peter Bergman (Jack: ex- Cliff, AMC) since you’ve been on Y&R?

Morgan: I saw Peter when he came to the All My Children wrap party. My second day on the show, we had this scene at the G.C.A.C. where I’m coming through the revolving door and he’s going out. Of course, the characters don’t know each other, so we just passed by. We both thought that was funny.

Weekly: Have you seen Jacob Young (ex-JR, AMC) now that he’s across the hall at B&B playing Rick?

Morgan: My very first day at CBS, I heard someone say, “Debbi!” It was Jacob and I just ran and jumped into his arms.

Weekly: Shortly after debuting on Y&R, you took a well-deserved break, so we won’t be seeing Harmony for a little while. What did you do during your time off?

Morgan: I slept until noon every day. My trainer wanted me up at like 7 in the morning and I said, “No freaking way.” I just relaxed. I wanted to see my sister, who I haven’t seen in two years, and I told her, “You’re going to have to come here.” So she did. She stayed about two weeks.

Weekly: With AMC set to go online, would you be okay if they got a new Angie?

Morgan: Hell, no! I would have a hard time with that. They better send Angie off to Africa to help starving children or something that and Jesse goes over to visit her every couple of months.

So just in case you all were wondering why she hasn’t been on for a little while it’s because she needed a break. I was about to start wondering if Y&R was already screwing with her, but now I see what the deal is. (LOL!) It looks to me Debbi is doing damn good over at CBS. Still hard to see her as this woman, but damn it she has been playing the hell out of her scenes. The little bit we have seen her. Can’t wait to see the rest of this story!

I also agree with her when she says hell no about Angie and her being replaced. Hell to the NO! They better not replace my girl, we’re going to have a serious problem if they do.

Anyway, that is all for the moment. Love ya daw’lins!

Darnell’s Coming Back!

By now you all know… That Darnell Williams a.k.a Pappa Bear Hubbard has signed on the dotted line! *Cue the New Orleans Music* I’m second line dancing happy y’all!

I said awhile ago I would still watch AMC even if DnD didn’t return, but hearing this makes the wait all the more exciting. I am uber excited, ready, on edge for AMC 2.0 to come. Y’all just don’t know!

Now… My only concern with him returning is them screwing him up. You all know they screwed him up something crazy during the tornado. I mean seriously, that was just horrible and if I can be a little frank with you all, it didn’t look like Darnell was that into the storyline anyway. I don’t know, it was just something about the way he delivered his lines or the emotions he used… or more like didn’t use. But yea I think he was just ‘WTF is Pratt doing to this man.’  Yea… Just like he wasn’t into it, neither was I. I like Natalia, but I know that story could have been done another way. A better way. I mean everybody who really knows Jesse Hubbard knows he would never hide anything like that from Angie. And don’t get me started on Angie letting that tramp Rebecca come stay in her home. Whooo I wanted to slap Dr. Hubbard for that one. No… Scratch that I wanted to slap, stomp and punch Pratt for making her do that. Ain’t no black woman… No, no woman period would invite their husband’s baby mama live in their home. That’s just asinine and asking for trouble.

But yea. Pratt was and still is an ass. Anyway…

I also worry about our girl Angie… I had a feeling during the final episode that she was going to be hurt. If not shot, probably knocked over by people trying to stumble out of the mansion. Anyway, I do believe this is going to be the outcome. And I don’t have a problem with this ONLY if they don’t kill her off. Please don’t turn my girl into the dead and come back again queen, that is unacceptable. I’m telling you there are ways to keep her on but at the same time write her off and keep the Hubbard family in Pine Valley. ((Crazy I know, but I have been thinking of that storyline for the longest time.))

This is good news either way. There is still hope that in time our Angie and Jesse will reunite!

Also… I had a friend who went the tribute to Pine Valley last night and guess what… She told Darnell Williams about me and how much of a fan I was and he sent me his love. That just made my day! You all have no idea how happy I was to read that tweet early this morning. I was in class cheesing hard! LOL! I love that man… ((Please don’t tell my other man that. He might get a little j. LOL!)) To Famousliche Thank You!!!

But yea I just had to tell you all that as well as post a little something. Walt Wiley and Darnell Williams did a talk show. The link below will take you to the playlist. There are three to listen to. Enjoy!

P.S. Stay tuned. I have another interview with Debbi Morgan from the SOW. Just in case you all have not checked it out.

Debbi Morgan on TJMS

P.S. I know many of you are waiting and probably wondering if I have abandoned this place, but I’m telling you all no way, no how. Can’t get rid of me that easy baaaaby! Anyway, I apologize from the bottom of my heart for keeping you all waiting. I am so sorry I haven’t been around. Like I said sometime ago, I’m back in school and with school comes work and projects and so many other things! Ugh! Just finished a report on radiation disasters and all of that… And just recently we buried a cousin. So a lot has been going on and I have not been able to sit at my laptop and just escape into my little world. Whether it be my AnJ world or my original fiction world where Faye and Darius and all of the others reside. But I do promise I will have these stories updated… Before 2012. (LMBO!!!) That goes for my Chamber story readers as well. No but seriously, I’m going to try my best to have these stories updated soon.
